Academic Integrity Escape Room Oct. 13^th (all day)

Digital Escape Room that is a fun and easy way for students to learn about the different types of plagiarism, practice good research techniques, and test their citation skills. Try to escape “The Online Chamber”. Use your academic integrity to solve puzzles and crack the codes to help Sask Polytech Stacey find their way out. Can you break free?

Coping During COVID-19 Oct. 20^th

Join us for an interactive presentation on how COVID stressors have changed the learning experience, impacted temptations to cheat, and affected group communication. Attendees will receive helpful take-aways and stories from current students.

Study Smart Oct 7^th, 12:00pm

Improve Your Study Strategies: Practice makes perfect! If you want to feel more comfortable with new material, you need to review regularly and actively! Trade in straight reading for techniques that will allow you to rehearse material, test yourself, and come up with memory devices. Learn how to prioritize your studying and focus on the material that really matters. The strategies introduced in this session will help throughout the semester, as well as leading up to exams.

Time Management: Managing your time and keeping on top of your work are the keys to student success. This workshop will introduce you to some simple techniques to plan your time more effectively. Reading & Note-taking Strategies: It can be challenging to listen to your instructors while also writing class notes . . . and how do you create good notes that you will be able to study from before a test or exam? Come to this workshop to learn more about how to find the main ideas in your assigned readings that will form the structure of your notes. As well, different note-taking systems will be shared to help you figure out which one best fits your courses and your own learning style.

Test-taking strategies: This workshop will help you to plan out your time in the weeks leading up to exams so that you have enough time to study each course. It will also introduce study techniques to help you determine what material you need to cover. Other strategies will include active studying tips and memory tools that can improve your exam results.
